Transcripts and Diplomas

Any student of any nationality living anywhere in the world — including independent (home educated) students — can earn an accredited TPS high school diploma and a transcript recognized around the world.

Transcript Planning

Are you seeking the strongest high school transcript you can for your student? Please consider our recommendations for building a strong transcript. Don’t wait until just before high school — look ahead and start planning and preparing in middle school or even sooner. When you are deciding what type and level of transcript (or diploma) you need, please see our transcript recommendations for applying to college.

Diploma Options

Would you enjoy peace of mind knowing you are providing the best college preparation and building the best high school transcript for your individual student? As an independent student (i.e., not registered with a state school, including “homeschooling”), you may earn a high school diploma with worldwide recognition. TPS serves students worldwide (75+ countries) and in every U.S. state. Starting in 1997, we have built worldwide recognition with a reputation for academic excellence. Our diplomas are recognized and respected nationally and globally.

Even if you prefer to confer your own diploma (e.g., as homeschool parents), you may still fully benefit from the expert planning guidance and academic support with the TPS Diploma. It can function as your secondary diploma so you still award your diploma at graduation, while you you enjoy confidence and peace of mind every year through graduation knowing you are providing the best college preparation and building the best high school transcript for your individual student.

In TPS you are welcome to take your courses a la carte and receive an accredited transcript for the individual courses you complete successfully, but we also encourage you to consider the added academic benefits and reduced costs of the TPS Diploma program option. Benefits of the TPS Diploma program include:

  • Worldwide recognition and unequaled reputation for academic excellence.
  • Build your best transcript with our nearly 250 high school credit courses, including honors, college dual credit, and AP courses.
  • Satisfies general academic U.S. and international requirements for high school graduation and can be adapted to meet specific requirements unique to a state or country. (May not satisfy specific eligibility requirements for special programs, financial aid, scholarships, or other local, regional, or specialized applications. These must be each be considered individually when assessing individual suitability of the TPS Diploma.)
  • Expert academic adviser individually assigned to each diploma student from the start of the plan through graduation.
  • Priority enrollment for approved courses (including wait listed and limited enrollment courses).
  • No fees for approved course drops or switches.
  • (Effective starting 2022) Registration Fee (for the entire family for the year) waived after the first year of diploma plan participation through the graduation year.
  • Experienced staff to answer questions during your college application process.
  • (Effective starting 2022) Transcript processing fee waived for grade 11/12 transcript (the one(s) used to apply to college). (TPS processing fee is waived. Delivery and postage fees may still apply.)
  • Certification of full-time enrollment and academic performance available when required (e.g., drivers permit applications, reports to local governments, etc.).
  • If you prefer to confer your own diploma (e.g., as homeschool parents), a TPS Diploma does not interfere — it can function as your secondary diploma so you still award your diploma at graduation.
  • All of the above benefits are free for TPS Diploma students and are not provided to other students (even for a fee). The TPS Diploma provides you academic benefits and saves you money!

TPS offers two levels of high school diploma — standard and honors. Both generally require the student to have taken most core courses through TPS for all four years of high school. Every student who joins our diploma program is assigned an academic adviser from the start. Each academic year the diploma plan adviser will assist with (and approve) course selection, coordinate scheduling and wait list resolution, and provide guidance for transcript record-keeping and preparation for college application. If you are considering the TPS diploma program, please use this Academic Advising Background Information form (to download the form document, right-click the link and “Save link as…”) to make the initial request for a meeting to discuss options for your individual student(s).

Grade Reports and Transcripts

TPS provides grade reports and transcripts to meet a variety of diverse needs. What type of transcript do you need for college or scholarship applications? That depends on the college or scholarship. As a general rule, an official transcript will be weighted more heavily than a self-generated one, especially if the transcript is from a recognized source with a strong academic reputation and School Profile. If you are listing TPS on your transcript as one of your “schools,” you should get an official transcript (with a school profile included) from TPS. If you are not going to send official records from TPS, you should not list TPS as one of your schools. Please see this article for more information.

There are four options below for grade reports and transcripts. Each option requires different information and has a different required format. Each option has different fees. To avoid delays and non-refundable fees, please choose the correct option for your need. If you are uncertain which to choose, please consult TPS Support before placing an order.

  • If you do not need an official (certified by accreditation) transcript, choose the free self-print Grade Report.
  • If you need an official transcript for college or scholarship application, choose the Official Transcript.
  • If you need a transcript for NCAA eligibility reporting, choose the NCAA Transcript.
  • If you need a transcript for transferring grades to another secondary school (not college), choose the Transfer Transcript.

Transfer Transcript (signed, sealed, accreditation logos)

TPS Logo MSA-CESS Logo

Before placing this order, please note that a transfer transcript should not be needed for an independent (home educated or “homeschooled”) student. High schools who want to review your progress should accept the free self-print Grade Report with a parent signature or as part of a transcript prepared by the parent. When it comes time to apply to college, students applying as independent applicants usually submit a transcript signed by parents with one or more external official school transcripts as supporting documents.

The main instance in which an official Transfer Transcript may be required is in registering for a full-time state school where you want the state school to incorporate the prior courses and grades into their own official transcript, and you intend to apply to college with that one school transcript (i.e., not as an independent student, possibly with multiple transcript sources). The option below is available primarily for this purpose, but may be used for any secondary school transfer of grades and credits.

  • Purpose: Transfer courses and grades to a school other than a college.
  • Grades and credits reported
    • All courses are listed, including completed, audit, and courses dropped at any point prior to completion.
    • All course grades are listed. All HS credit course grades are included in the GPA except Audit and In Progress courses.
    • Audit courses will be listed as “Audit” and not included in the GPA.
    • Courses in progress will be listed as “IP” and not included in the GPA.
    • HS credit courses dropped before completion without a prior TPS waiver are listed as Failed and will be included in the GPA.
    • Includes GPA calculated for that transcript.
  • Contains TPS name, logo, and signature.
  • Contains logo of TPS accreditation (candidate member) from Middle States Association – Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools.
  • Unofficial copy provided to family.
  • Cost
    • Setup and Email Delivery: $35
      • No rush orders or fees.
      • No refunds.
