This course is designed to help advanced students develop a portfolio that represents their own unique artistic vision while also exploring ways to create more sophisticated visual statements in their work. Emphasis will be on personal assessments of strengths and weaknesses, developing breadth as well as depth, and refining artistic skills in a variety of media. Students will also explore personal responses, new processes, risk taking/creativity, and writing statements about their work. Class critiques will help students think more deeply about their own art as well as give constructive feedback to their peers. This course is particularly helpful for students who want to apply to a Fine Arts program after high school.
