This course is for the advanced French student who wants to become more academically proficient and fluent in French language and culture. After this course students will be ready to study French literature, take AP French, or pursue college and career roles that require functional French. This academically challenging course takes the student through advanced grammar to be able to read and translate complex works. The class will cover the conditional, the subjunctive, the passé simple, the past conditional, and all the verb tenses required for French literature. There are research projects and cultural activities to further general French fluency and familiarity, and to begin to prepare students for AP French Language and Culture. Oral activities in class, music, French media and presentations keep the student immersed in the language, and most of the class will be conducted in French as the students move towards fluency.
