“This has been an informative, useful, and enthralling course to invest myself in this year. This Latin course not only helps you to become familiar with grammar and vocabulary, but also to have a clearer understanding of English, French, and many other languages that originated from Latin. If you are someone who has any interest in learning more of this beautiful ancient language, this is a perfect course for you!”

“I learned so much about African American history through this course! While I knew some details, this course helped me see how the whole history connects, and how it influences modern-day events. I learned about so many events and historical figures that I’d never heard of. The teacher was so kind, encouraging, and wise — she has wonderful insights into this topic, and she truly cares about her students. The class was a safe space to discuss the topic and share opinions and questions. African American history is so important for any American to know, so I highly recommend this course to both American students and anyone interested in history and modern-day racial issues.”

English Writing and Literature

“The Confident Composition Course has a unique approach to writing. The teacher did an admirable job with the curriculum. This course inspires students to become better writers by using excellent literature and essays as inspiration. I learned to read more thoughtfully, looking for the author’s techniques and being inspired to use some of these techniques in my own writing. The teaching of different concepts was always very helpful, and because of this course, my grammar skills have grown tremendously. I learned to love writing more because of this course and the teacher’s excellent facilitation of the course material.”

Art, Elementary

“Art and Artists has been the most fun and engaging course in my four years with TPS. I adore everything ‘artsy’ and because of that, I have been searching for a rigorous art class that not only provides new, useful information every week, but also teaches and explains new techniques. Since starting the course in the fall, I have been able to answer questions that people have about art by utilizing what I was taught. There is just the right amount of work each week, I had an amazing teacher, and I have already recommended this class on numerous occasions. I will continue to do so, as I want as many people as possible to experience the amazing learning opportunity that this course provided me with. Now, I know exactly what types and movements of art I wish to further research and practice.”

“I really enjoyed how this course has so many different types of activities to train your Spanish speaking muscles. From answering questions, writing sentences, reciting words and verses, to reading the Bible in Spanish, every activity is important and helpful. None of it is busy work. The classes help you get used to speaking in Spanish in front of your peers and having to answer questions on the spot.”

“The teachers are kind and patient, explaining any questions you have during class and by email. I have learned how to better revise and edit and to replace boring words quickly and well. My writing has improved greatly since taking this class and I have enjoyed it greatly. Even the essays have been fun to research, lay out, and write.”

“Out of all three of my classes, this one was my very favorite. It was a good way to get to know people and at the same time learn Spanish. The games were very fun and I was sad whenever the class was over. My only complaint was that I didn’t have it every day.”

Bible

“This course really helped me think more biblically about everything, from fictional books to what I do in my everyday life. Through this course, I read many books that strengthened my faith and helped me see different areas of my faith that I should explore more. The teacher was engaging and created fun things to do in class. The assignments were challenging but not too hard. Overall, I loved this class and would highly recomend to anyone thinking of taking it.”

AP, Math

“The structured curriculum really prepares students for the AP exam. There are formulas that must be memorized, but the teacher tries to make the students understand the formulas, which really helps! There are also tons of practice exams provided as assignments, whereas in other AP courses, you might need to do these on your own time. If taking AP Calc AB, this course is most definitely the best choice!”
