English Writing and Literature

“I was behind in grammar when beginning English 1 Lit and Comp, and this class helped me to understand the assignments better and how to diagram sentences. The concepts were explained well.”

Bible

“This class was quite an experience in Scriptural study. Not only did I learn volumes on the Bible itself with enlightening context, but the class also taught me how to look for resolutions in other parts of Scripture. The teacher walked us through how to think critically and ask questions while studying the Bible. It is quite a privilege to take the class and I highly recommend it, not just for teaching students for a semester, but for equipping children of God for the rest of their lives.”

Global Languages

“I can’t recommend this course enough – and all the TPS French classes. I learned so much each year as far as vocabulary, pronunciation, French culture, and translating oral and written language. The classes got me so much into the habit of hearing and speaking French that sometimes after class, it felt odd speaking English! After taking TPS French 1 and 2, I enrolled in French 3 at my local community college for the second semester. I was afraid it would be much more challenging than TPS, but I was amazed to discover that all the grammar we were studying, I had already learned back in French 2! More than that, I had learned it all in a way that was so much easier to understand! Lucky for me, I was able to come back to TPS French as a senior this year and continue my studies in French 4/5. Merci beaucoup, TPS!”

Math

“This course helped me keep up my math skills during the summer…and learn some new ones! I would recommend this course to anyone who is trying to strengthen their math skills to be ready for Algebra.”

Elementary, English Writing and Literature

“I recommend this class to other people because above just reading, it teaches you to write summaries and answer questions from a text. It is a class that helps you understand types of books such as fiction, fantasy, and nonfiction.”

Photography Videography

“Out of all the classes I have ever taken, this was my favorite. The teacher is funny and encouraging and always has thoughtful feedback on the photos. My classmates and I also developed a very special relationship. Since we present photos every week, we get a sneak peek into each other’s lives, which leads to fun conversations. We also encouraged each other and pushed each other to master the art of photography. It was so fun to take photos for homework. It provided a break from the regular homework and worked a part of my brain that is not normally used in my schoolwork. This class developed a love of photography in me that I predict will last for a while.”

“I learned so much through this course!!! If you want to get a good grip on learning Spanish, this is a good choice. There are five days of homework, which may be a lot for some. However, the practice in the homework is totally worth it. I liked getting to have a live class, where I could practice the pronunciation with my teacher and classmates. Plus, one of my favorite parts of this class was getting to memorize Bible verses in Spanish! I would especially recommend this course to anyone wanting to pursue Spanish through high school. Overall, I learned so much from this Spanish course!”

Math, TPS

“TPS has changed the way I look at math. I have taken three math courses with different teachers, and all of the teachers have been encouraging, fun, and very helpful! They employ memes, songs, and funny drawings to help me wrap my mind around hard concepts. Before TPS I struggled immensely with math, but now math is no longer my GPA nemesis!”

“The amount of work was perfect, not too much and not too little. Each lesson was spread out between two weeks so that you could really grasp the new material. Also, the teacher was very patient with us as we learned a new language and was super encouraging. I highly recommend this course.”
