“I would recommend this course to anyone looking to get a deeper education in high school. The teachers give you the tools and resources and teach you how to write and learn like a college student. Not only have I developed better writing skills, learned so much about world literature and history, and learned to appreciate art, but I also feel that after taking this class I am more prepared to go to college and have a better grasp of what will be expected of me.”

Isabel M (student – High Scholars)

“One of my favorite classes this year. I was challenged in both of my research papers, but I took it step by step and was very satisfied with the end result of the essays. The guideline for the research papers were very smooth and helpful in the process of writing. The assignment was stretched out over several weeks and gave week-to-week instructions so as to help me achieve the best essay I could write.”

Nate C (student – U.S. History for Middle School)

“There are so many things I could say to influence others to take this class. This course really focuses on strengthening the foundations and thoughts of its students. In the English section, I got to read so many interesting short stories, poems, and essays and discuss their meanings and themes with my fellow classmates. In History, I received objective lessons on historical events and movements. I even got to discuss and debate my own ideas on subjects like Globalization, Marxism, Imperialism, and much more. In the Art History section, I got to learn about different cultures and their ideas through their art. I got to see different ways of looking at history or topics just through different pieces of art. All of the teachers are well educated in their studies, friendly and loving to their students, and focus on teaching their students how to think and discuss. This class has brought me much joy, and I hope that you strongly consider taking it.”

Daniel W (student – High Scholars)

“Anyone fascinated with crime investigation and the objective aspect of it will devour this class. It covers almost every aspect of investigating crime, focusing on the individual fields of study, including roles, and the courtroom process itself.”

Gabrielle S (student – Forensic Science)

“I started TPS taking Algebra. Before taking the class, math was hard and stressful for me. I hated it! This year, finishing Algebra, I have realized that I have come to understand math. TPS teachers were supportive and willing to help me.”

Geneva M (student – Algebra)

“TPS English has been a giant blessing for me. Not only is the environment safe, fun, and godly, but the curriculum and teaching style I have experienced makes the courses the most enjoyable and instructive classes I’ve ever taken. I used to earn consistently low grades in writing, but after just a couple short years I’m earning much higher scores on a weekly basis. Thank you TPS English!”

Gabriel B (student)

“I really enjoyed this class. This is not only an AP test prep class, but also a full high school U.S. history course. I take the AP test soon and I feel well-prepared. I appreciated the weekly video segment to help us specifically on writing AP essays. We also went beyond the textbook in class discussions which were super interesting and helped me gain more perspective on U.S. history.”

Susannah G (student – AP U.S. History)

“College American Literature is a thrilling course that pulls together different forms of literature from the Federalists Papers to The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to poems of Walt Whitman. It is an especially great class to take alongside a U.S. History course as students will be able to read firsthand accounts through this class of the history they learn about. Additionally, this course has interesting paper assignments that allow students to dive deeper into American literature and the history surrounding it. Overall I highly recommend College American Literature.”

Makenna M (student – College American Literature)

“The teacher was the best art teacher I’ve ever had. Many of my art teachers told me I had to do a certain project, but this teacher gave my classmates and I ideas and then let us come up with a project on our own. She also showed us lots of art forms from different times and countries. Overall, this class was extremely fun and helped my art look more professional.”

Hannah D (student – Art)

“…my ACT test returned with a perfect score in English. Wow!”

Hannah M (student)

“Although statistics is a challenging subject, I feel I received all the help and resources I needed to better grasp each concept. We were given College Board AP resources, assignments, and projects that all worked to deepen our understanding. We were given many opportunities to practice with AP exam questions so that my confidence only grew as the year progressed to take the AP exam.”

Sabina M (student – AP Statistics)

“This course greatly enhanced my understanding of classical history and literature from a Christian standpoint! Because it was dual enrollment through Belhaven University, we got the added bonus of earning college credit without having to take a stressful AP exam at the end of the year. But without a doubt, the best part of High Scholars was seeing my classmates four days a week and getting to know them personally!”

Emma M (student – High Scholars)

“This course shed a whole new light on History and English for me. Rather than just throwing out a bunch of names, dates, and facts for rote memorization, this class focused on truly understanding the history and the reasons behind the history. As we traced important events and movements throughout the years, we discovered how each event connected with the others and the causes and effects of these events. At the end of the school year I found myself amazed at how perfectly everything we learned fit together. We were able to trace the historical and cultural developments in literature and see the connections between the two. Rather than just knowing that the history happened, we actually studied and discussed it and truly learned to understand it. Additionally, this course matured my writing in ways I never expected. We learned to go beyond the basic five paragraph essay and explored new and deeper methods and styles of writing. This class taught me in a fun, engaging, and effective way, and was truly one of my favorite TPS experiences.”

Olivia B (student – Modern History, Literature and Composition)

“I recommend this course because it so successfully combines English (literature), History, and Art History and they all follow the same timeline! I had never done Art History before, and the College Art Appreciation part of High Scholars Year 2 helped me understand and appreciate art in so many new ways.”

Glorianna G (student – High Scholars)

“TPS English has enabled our children to achieve excellence in grammar and composition. The high quality of the instruction and assignments has enabled our children to make vast improvements in their ability to be independent writers.

Overall, the TPS English teachers provide an outstanding, high level of detailed corrections to our children’s writing to constantly help them improve. Our children have learned logical, systematic paragraph development and how to clearly explain their ideas in writing through this process. Our children will be well prepared to be independent thinkers and writers in college and beyond.”

“My older sister took Bible Survey last year and was always raving about it to me, telling me how much she was learning and what a fabulous teacher she had. Because of her positive experience with it, my mom signed me up for the class. I can honestly say it has changed my life. The textbook used for this class offers interesting and easy-to-understand information about the Bible, and the teacher’s instruction makes Scripture come alive in an interesting and personal way. One of my favorite things about the class is how we don’t just learn about the Bible, we learn how it applies to us and how we can use what we learn to glorify God, love others, and become more mature in Christ.”

Sarah M (student – Bible Survey)

“One of the beauties of TPS is that the homeschooling parent can listen in on the class (while tending to other duties) and know how to support the student in his or her pursuit of academic excellence. Teachers are quick to respond to any concern the student or parent has and often answer within 24 hours! Homework is submitted online and comes back with detailed feedback that is personalized for the student. Before we started with TPS, I was afraid it would be very impersonal. How wrong I was! Teachers address students by name throughout the class and students come to know each other through the chat bar. Best of all, I know my children are under the care and instruction of a loving, Christian teacher who models prayer and godly standards in every aspect of the class.”

Miam D (parent)

“This program is just right for students in 6th grade and my teacher has been the best math teacher I’ve ever had. Even though I never really liked math, I love this class and honestly recommend it to any 6th grade student wanting an amazing math class.”

Zion R (student – Math Fundamentals 6)

“I would wholeheartedly recommend TPS English 1. My writing has improved tremendously because of this course. I do not fear writing anymore, and I feel more comfortable when I sit down to write. The teachers for this course are absolutely awesome. They took the time go over the material in detail and to encourage me. TPS English 1 is a great course for anyone struggling and uncomfortable with writing, as well as those who just need to polish their skills.”

Michael G (student – English 1)

“Eastern Empires is a wildly exciting course taught by an equally exciting and amusing teacher. For history geeks who feel like they’ve already learned everything that is to know, this is the class for you. The course topics are unique and insightful, and really give you an understanding about various cultures. Definitely recommend!”

Grant R (student – Eastern Empires)

“I am so grateful that TPS was an option for my family! Because of its flexibility, I am able to spend a lot of time with my baby sister. She was born the week my brother started school, three weeks before I started school! I have two brothers already, and I really wanted a sister. It has been significant to me and to my family that I can be involved in her life while also pursuing my academic progress. I have needed to adapt to the changes in schooling and in our home, such as by learning to create task lists and use a schedule for completing my work outside of the live TPS class sessions.”

Christina S (student)

“The lively in-class discussions helped me better understand the big issues confronting our society and understand how and why our legal system is where it is today. I am a much more informed citizen and can read legal decisions for myself.”

Nathan Y (student – Constitutional Law)

“College British Literature has been one of the most interesting literature courses that I’ve taken. Though British literature can be daunting and hard to understand at times, the teacher guided us through from the Anglo-Saxons to the Modernists with confidence and ease. I’m happy to say that Areopagitica by Milton changed my mind, and that the War poets and the Modernists helped me think about life in a different way. I’ve learned the difference between the Romance and the Romantics, and exactly why Shakespeare was such a genius. If you want to laugh, get excited, be challenged, and learn a lot—this course is for you.”

Acacia L (student – College British Literature)

“As a student who has been a homeschooler for my entire life, I can say with great ease that TPS is the absolute greatest way to educate online. I have been through many, many curriculums but none come close to what TPS provides.”

Turner L (student)

“I love this class! It’s perfectly-paced and the teacher is awesome. I’ll admit, when I started TPS two years ago I pretty much hated math. But now I actually enjoy learning about it and figuring out how to solve problems! I would definitely recommend TPS Math!”
