Study Italian — vernacular language of music, poetry, and literature — with TPS!

“I absolutely loved this class! It was my favorite class of the entire semester. The teacher made the lessons clear and always went at our pace. She also included interactive activities and even showed us many recipes in Italian which could include our families. I highly recommend this class, and look forward to taking the next level next school year.” Joanna B

Italian is the mellifluous language of music and poetry. It is the language of Dante, many great operas, and great renaissance vernacular literary works. It is considered one of the most beautiful languages in the world, so it is also enjoyable to learn and speak. TPS Italian Language and Culture 1 and 2 are for students who have no prior knowledge of spoken or written Italian. Students learn the language and gain basic proficiency in communication. The class also studies Italian culture and does many enjoyable projects (including authentic cooking!)

“Italian is going to be a lot of fun because not only are you learning the Italian language, but also Italian culture as well. There will be cooking videos, in which you follow instructions to cook an Italian dish, cultural researches, in which you research about something from Italy and then create a document about it and share it, and virtual tours of various regions of Italy You’ll love it.” Andrew B

The teacher is a native Italian speaker who was born and raised in the city of Bologna (Italy). She has her teaching degree from one of the oldest universities in Europe. She has taught Italian, History, and Geography in elementary public schools in Italy and in the U.S.

“I would recommend this course. Even though I’ve lived in Italy for five years, I still felt like I learned something. Also, the homework is challenging but not impossible which is awesome.” Eli S
