Course Catalog ID:
3909
Subject Categories:
Elementary Class, Social Studies / Social Science
Description

Welcome all globetrotters! This class is for students who are eager to learn about the world’s physical, cultural, and political geography. We will journey across the seven continents, studying the unique and diverse topography of each. We will examine the earth’s physical elements, various types of boundaries, natural wonders, and different cultures and their history. Students will develop geography skills such as analyzing maps (plotting all countries of the world, placing them in their absolute and relative location), work on multimedia assignments and hands-on activities, and share presentations in class. There is a lot to learn on this worldwide adventure, discovering how geography affects different regions and influences the way people live and interact. Physical and cultural geography are part of the larger story of creation and redemption, so if we are to understand ourselves and our world we need a good foundation in geography!
