This course provides a full introduction to the biological sciences to help middle school students prepare for the concepts they will learn in high school Biology, and to encourage a strong curiosity about life sciences. Topics include cell structure, genetics, organism characteristics and classification, bacteria and viruses, protists and fungi, animal structures and functions, some human anatomy, ecology, and more. Students will learn how to conduct successful experiments and perform data analysis. The course will improve critical thinking skills and develop lab-writing skills. This course will improve student readiness for high school life sciences and promote higher grades in high school lab sciences.
