She is very competent, and she very obviously cares about every student and their improvement, and also about encouraging them. Both years I had a class with her, she fostered a supportive, yet social environment. She helped to make Russian much less daunting, and now I feel like I can hold a conversation with a native, I can figure out grammar, I can read a Russian newspaper or write an email in Russian. The amount of homework felt very appropriate and doable. I recommend this course to anyone who is interested in learning a new language, because I’ve consistently had homework, teaching, and practice that met my needs.”
