This guided study course focuses on strategic preparation and practice for the Math portion of the ACT and SAT, as well as the Science portion of the ACT. The course familiarizes students with the exam and seeks to help students reduce potential test-taking anxiety. There is extensive instruction on test-taking strategies particular to these exams, including guided practice in and outside of class. Students review and practice key concepts in algebra, select topics in math which are necessary for many of the types of exam problems, interpretation of data, scientific investigation, problem solving, data analysis, evaluation of models, inference, and evaluation of experimental results. The course also provides insights and skills that will help students in other academic areas of high school and college.

Flexible Scheduling: This course may be taken with live class attendance waived (recording only). Select this option when you enroll or notify TPS for approval.
Schedule Planning: This semester course meets every other week to allow students ample time to practice the skills taught in each session of the course. For the benefit of students taking both SAT® and ACT® Exam Prep (English) and SAT® and ACT® Exam Prep (Math), the meeting weeks alternate with the meeting weeks of the similarly scheduled SAT® and ACT® Exam Prep (Math) course. In the summer, the two courses each meet one day per week at the same time on alternate days.
Prerequisite: The student should have completed or be concurrently taking Algebra 2 to benefit from this course.
