TPS Elementary and Middle School Science – Investigate now!

“I would recommend their course to others because it was very enjoyable and the course material was the right level of interesting and fun! It covered everything from animals, to people, to plants. The teacher was understanding and helpful. Overall this was a very fun course.”

TPS Elementary Science

Our goal in Elementary Science is to instill a delight in learning about God’s Creation and to provide an interactive academic foundation for life science and physical science.

Grade 4

In this course, grade 4 students “discover” God’s amazing “heaven above” and “earth below” through study of astronomy, meteorology, and geology. Activities and projects are used to explain and demonstrate the principles being studied. Students are introduced to the Scientific Method by learning to observe, record information, discuss findings, and form conclusions. Topics include weather and water, with the atmosphere and the oceans; solar system and planets, with stars, comets…

Grades 5/6

In this course, grade 5/6 students “discover” the living world of God’s creation. The course will explore the intricacies of microscopic life, cell biology, and ecology while providing a thorough grounding in classification. We’ll study water creatures, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. Learning how living creatures meet their energy requirements and how they interact and communicate will help students to appreciate the complexity of creation. We will learn about the amazing body systems and construct physical models to better understand how they work…

Elementary Science – Discovering God’s Physical World

This course alternates academic years with Elementary Science – Discovering God’s Living World. It will be offered next in 2024-25.

TPS Middle School Science

“I highly recommend Physical Science. The class was informative and engaging, and the teacher did an excellent job of explaining complex concepts in a way that was easy to understand. Throughout the course, we learned about different subjects about Chemistry and Physics. We also explored various scientific laws and theories that explain how the physical world operates. Overall, I feel that this class has given me a solid foundation in Physical Science and has sparked my curiosity to learn more about the world around me.”

Daniel W (student)

Our goal in Middle School Science is to interactively introduce students to the concepts and skills they will need for success in High School science. Middle School courses (and grades) are not included on the high school transcript, so this is a great opportunity to be introduced to more difficult material without having to master it the first time they see it. It is also a great opportunity to get into lab skills and lab reports, which are often weak areas for homeschoolers.

Grades 6/7

This course provides a broad introduction to various branches of science, including the history of science, scientific inquiry and the scientific method, documenting and interpreting experimental results, scientific analysis and history, astronomy, meteorology, oceanography, earth study, geology, paleontology, meteorology and oceanography, general chemistry, general physics, general biology and life science, marine science, environmental science, and science of creation. There is also introduction to graphing. The course contains fun and educational labs and projects, and culminates in a final project to build a Rube-Goldberg machine that employs principles learned during the course…

Grades 7/8

This course provides a full introduction to the biological sciences to help middle school students prepare for the concepts they will learn in high school Biology, and to encourage a strong curiosity about life sciences. Topics include cell structure, genetics, organism characteristics and classification, bacteria and viruses, protists and fungi, animal structures and functions, some human anatomy, ecology, and more. Students will learn how to conduct successful experiments and perform data analysis. The course will improve critical thinking skills and develop lab-writing skills…

This course introduces two physical sciences — chemistry and physics — that students experience all the time, though they may not realize it. It helps students make the important connection between the science they read and what they experience every day. Relevant content, lively explorations, and a wealth of hands-on activities take students’ understanding of science beyond the page and into the world around them. The science is taught from from a biblical worldview, explicitly presenting the physical sciences as aspects of God’s creation and revealed glory. This full-scope introduction to the physical sciences provides an overview of Chemistry and Physics with a middle school academic level and workload. Chemistry topics include properties and states of matter, atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonds, chemical reactions, and more. Physics topics include motion, forces, fluids, power, energy, heat, waves, electricity, magnetism, and more…

“This TPS science course was by far my favorite course of the year; my teacher explained everything so well, it was easy to understand everything we were taught. Classes were so fun and engaging, I would 100% recommend to anyone wanting an energetic and useful class.”
