Class Schedule Availability
When are class schedules made available for enrollment?
Around one week prior to Early Enrollment opening, class schedules for the enrolling school year begin to post in the catalog. This process takes several days, and schedules are finalized a few days before opening Early Enrollment.
Once the class schedules are finalized, Carts are emptied. This is to avoid a situation where a class in the Cart changes schedule after it is added to the Cart and before it is enrolled, so the student enrolls in a class with a schedule they cannot use.
Why are class schedules released so close to Early Enrollment?
To build a class schedule, our scheduling team matches the availability of 70 teachers to anticipated enrollment time preferences for 1000s of students in every time zone. Every year, our team assesses the earliest possible date by which we can have a stable schedule. Then we set Early Enrollment to be shortly after that earliest stable schedule date.
Early Enrollment opens two weeks before General Enrollment, so early enrolling students have two weeks to settle their schedules before classes start to fill, and other students have two weeks or more to review the stable class schedule before their enrollment opens.
